Let's continue the topic with more settings for the DJI Air 2S.

FPV Mode

It is well-known that the Air 2S is excellent for capturing high-quality, smooth 5K footage. Sometimes, however, you might want to do something different and have some fun.

With the FPV mode of the Air 2S, you can essentially lock the gimbal so that there is no stabilized compensation for the drone's movements, keeping the camera fixed. Whatever direction the Air 2S tilts or turns, you'll see it clearly in your footage, creating a dramatic effect.

To activate FPV mode:

● Enter the main menu

● Go to the Control menu

● Change the mode from Follow Mode (the standard, smooth, stabilized mode) to FPV Mode.

Photo and Video Tips

Adjusting Screen Exposure

Changing the exposure of the Air 2S can easily be done on the screen without needing to go through the bottom-right menu bar to manually adjust settings such as shutter speed and ISO in Pro mode (equivalent to the manual mode of a camera) or even leaving the exposure on Auto.

Sometimes, you need to take control momentarily while in Auto mode and adjust the exposure to your preference rather than what the drone deems appropriate.

Fortunately for those who don't want to be in Pro mode, you can easily adjust the screen exposure with a simple swipe.

To adjust the exposure while in Auto mode:

● Tap on the screen, and you'll see the yellow exposure box (a thin yellow outlined box with a sun icon on the right side).

● Press and drag your finger up or down to brighten or darken the screen. That's it!

Note: The screen exposure adjustment works only when the shooting mode is in Auto, not in Pro mode.

Histogram, Zebra Lines, Grid Lines, and Focus Peaking

Just like standard DSLR or mirrorless cameras, the DJI Fly app includes tools to help you compose great shots and capture better videos.

We’ll take a closer look at these tools and show you how to access them. Conveniently, all of them are found on the same options page.

Histogram

The histogram provides a visual representation of the camera’s exposure. It allows you to immediately see whether the image or video is too bright or too dark in real time.

The left side represents shadows and blacks, the right side highlights and whites, and the center mid-tones.

Overexposure Warning (Zebra Lines) and Focus Peaking

Like the histogram, the overexposure warning is a tool to help ensure proper exposure. When this option is enabled, any overexposed areas (too bright) will display with a series of zebra stripes.

These lines are visible only on the flight screen and do not appear in the final image or video.

Similarly, focus peaking can be enabled, which highlights areas in the image or video that are in focus with a red outline.

The intensity or level of peaking can be set to Low, Normal, or High.

Remote Control Tips

FN Button Behavior

On the front of the standard Air 2S remote controller, you'll see the FN button. This button can be customized for single or double presses, allowing you to perform two actions with one button.

Settings that can be assigned include:

SINGLE TAP

● Advanced camera options

● AE Lock/Unlock (automatic exposure)

● Hyperlapse cruise control

● Increase EV (exposure value)

● Decrease EV (exposure value)

DOUBLE TAP

● Re-center the gimbal

● Auxiliary LED (toggle auxiliary LED)

● Switch map/live view

● Gimbal follow/FPV mode

● Advanced camera options

● Lock/unlock AE

● Hyperlapse cruise control

● Increase EV

● Decrease EV

To access and change these actions:

● Go to the main menu

● Navigate to the Control section

● You'll find the Button Customization section

Here, you can adjust the single and double-tap behaviors of the FN button to the options listed above.

Charging Devices

A popular feature of the Air 2S is the remote’s ability to charge a connected device.

Some operators appreciate this, as it eliminates the worry about whether their phone or tablet has enough charge for the current session.

Others prefer not to drain the remote's battery. Whatever your preference, you can enable or disable device charging by navigating to the Control section and finding the Phone Charging option.

Additional Tips

Here are a few extra tips for Air 2S users:

Battery Information

The Air 2S provides detailed battery information, including:

● RTH (Return to Home)

● Forced landing

● 100% depleted battery

To view this information, tap the Battery Percentage icon in the top right corner of the screen during flight.

This data is available when the Air 2S is in the air.

These are just some of the many tricks and settings that can enhance your Air 2S experience. Future firmware updates may bring even more features and functionality to this already feature-rich consumer and professional drone.
