Drones as a strategy for transporting goods for Amazon

Electric drones are also part of Amazon's plan to achieve its goal of having all their shipments zero carbon emissions. They intend to achieve this at 50% by 2030. As early as 2013. started testing the deliveries with drones, and their ultimate goal is for the shipment to reach their customer's threshold.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said Amazon's project to use drones to deliver shipments has been approved. The new service is titled as Prime Air and allows Amazon to make safe and efficient deliveries to customers.

Thanks to this, Amazon will be able to deliver shipments in less than 30 minutes. The company confirmed that they will serve areas with low population density and shipments can reach 5 kilograms.

Former Boeing CEO David Carbon has taken on a key role in Amazon's drone program. He announced that the company's certification strategy for a drone supplier is a very important step. He added that they intend to make efforts to improve and integrate supply drones and will cooperate with the FAA and other regulators.

The development of this type of transport also anticipates that the warehouses are going to speed up their work.

Warehouse managers are aware of how long it could take for a product to go through the supply chain and reach efficient processes and then reach the customer. The longer it takes to process an incoming shipment, the more time it takes for the products to be entered in the inventory and the fewer items are available for purchase.
