DJI Mavic 3: The next generation of camera drone
Key features of the DJI Mavic 3
DJI Mavic 3 is the new standard in aerial photography! This incredible model will take high-quality aerial videos and photos without compromise. If you want to have professional looking results, this is the right choice for you. If you're still on the fence, read the full review of the latest drone in the Mavic series.
Key features of the DJI Mavic 3
With the DJI Mavic 3, you can take and share impressive videos and photos from up high. The design follows the same principle as previous Mavic models. Its propeller arms shrink inward and make it compact and convenient to transport.
1. Sensors
Thanks to its sensors on all sides, you will pilot safely and plan the flight route. The obstacle avoidance sensors will let you know if there are objects near the drone so you can prevent a collision. Altitude and speed sensors will let you know how high and how fast your drone is flying at all times.
2. Cameras
DJI Mavic 3 has 2 cameras that will shoot professional content.
The Hasselblad L2D-20c camera has a built-in 4/3” CMOS sensor with great resolution and high dynamic range. In addition, because of its size, the sensor effectively suppresses noise if the environment is dimly lit.
The camera takes 20MP photos and has an f/2.8-f/11 adjustable aperture that gives you unique flexibility in carrying out your shots.
The DJI Mavic 3 features Vision Detection Auto Focus (VDAF) technology, which ensures your footage will always be crisp.
The Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) ensures vividly accurate natural colours in your footage, which can save you time in post-processing.
Each pixel of the camera is calibrated with HNCS built-in, so the drone will capture colours with the same quality. RGB colour data received from the sensor during shooting is converted using the unique Hasselblad algorithm, and so the best possible natural colours are ensured.
Thanks to the professional performance of the DJI Mavic 3, you will record aerial video footage with high resolution and frame rate. The camera captures up to one billion colours thanks to a 10-bit D-Log colour profile and can shoot up to 5.1K!
The Mavic 3 Cine supports Apple ProRes 422 HQ, which will encode data at a maximum rate of 3772 Mbps and that greatly improves the depth of your footage.
The Tele camera makes the Explore mode the best way to scout and plan your shots. It has a 28x Hybrid Zoom and 162mm, f/4.4 that allow you to zoom in and record with great quality. When you want to photograph certain subjects or scenes that are far away, simply use the telecam to zoom in.
3. Advanced Return to Home (RTH)
The RTH function is now more advanced and with it you can end your flight without any problems. It will automatically determine the optimal return route to the takeoff point and land with ease. If the DJI Mavic 3 goes out of signal, no matter if the Return to Home option is enabled, it will automatically return to its starting point.
4. Flight
Flight time with the DJI Mavic 3 has now been improved to 46 minutes. The maximum altitude the drone can reach is 6000m. Wind resistance has also been improved by 50% compared to Mavic 3's predecessor. The drone has an efficient propulsion system and a high capacity battery, as well as high-precision positioning that allows it to circle steadily. Photos are crystal clear and videos are smooth and professional.
5. Live streaming
DJI Mavic 3 can live stream. The video transmission range is 8km. Its resolution is 1080p/60fps, which means the video that is broadcast is the same resolution that the camera is actually recording.
6. Smart battery
The DJI Mavic 3 has a smart flight battery that has a charge and discharges feature. It has a capacity of 5000mAh which allows for a 46-minute flight.
7. Remote control
You can control your drone with the remote, which offers an even smoother flight experience. It charges quickly with a USB cable, and the antenna’s power has also been improved and thanks to this, the transmission distance has been extended.
Accessories for DJI Mavic 3
1. Portable Charger
The portable charger is a great option for quick charging when you're out and about. It takes approximately 96 minutes to fully charge and then you can get back to working with your DJI Mavic 3.
2. Carrying case
The design of the new carrying case allows you to carry it on your shoulder like a backpack or hand-hold it. There are well-made compartments for the drone itself and for additional accessories.
3. Low noise propellers
The propellers are low noise and quieter than ever. This would be useful if you are photographing animals, for example, and you don't want to scare them with the sound of your drone. They have higher aerodynamic efficiency and lower power consumption.
4. Propeller guards
They provide protection to the propellers and thus protect them or you from injury, especially when you are operating the drone in tight spaces. They are lightweight, durable and really easy to put on and take off.
5. Wide-angle lens
The wide-angle lens for the DJI Mavic 3 provides a 108° FOV (Field of View). With it, you'll be fully immersed in flight and content capture.
There are a variety of accessories that will make operating your drone much more enjoyable. Many of the accessories are available as a combination at a more affordable price. Take a careful look and consider carefully which accessories you want to equip your device with. Preserve your favourite experiences with the DJI Mavic 3.
